Readability, functionality, precision and reliability in all elements and even under the most extreme conditions are the guiding principles behind most timepieces from Bell & Ross. Their unmistakable design is inspired by cockpit instruments and, despite their robustness and tool-watch character, they radiate a particular masculine elegance that even some female watch lovers cannot resist. Although the brand’s history is rooted in aviation, it can also pride itself with some stunning diver’s watches. The first was released in 1997 and boasted a record water resistance of 11,000 meters.
The new BR 03-92 Diver Brown Bronze, which is part of the Diver collection introduced in 2017, complies with the international standard ISO 6425 and is water resistant to 300 meters. As its name suggests, the case (42 x 12.5mm), which borrows its rounded square shape from the BR 01, is made from bronze and features a stainless-steel closed case back that is protected against magnetism.
The alloy used is CuSn8, which is composed of 92% copper and 8% tin. This combination lends the case a rose hue patina over time and creates a stunningly harmonious look with the brown dial that provides great readibility under water and in the dark, thanks to Superluminova coating on the hands and markers.
The BR 03-92 Diver Brown Bronze is driven by the automatic BR-CAL.302 and comes with a brown calfskin leather and woven black rubber strap. The price of the 999-limited edition is $4,700.
