Last October, Swiss watchmaker Oris launched its Cal. 400 in-house movement in the Aquis range (see our review of the 43.5-mm Aquis Date here). Today, the brand has unveiled a slightly smaller Aquis model with the new movement, the new Aquis Date Calibre 400 with a diameter of 41.5 mm.

It uses the same case design as previous Aquis Date models, while containing, as its name implies, the updated in-house automatic movement.

The brand’s latest diver’s watch is available with either a blue (Ref. 400 7769 4135), anthracite (Ref. 400 7769 4154) or green dial (Ref. 400 7769 4157), all with matching ceramic inserts for the bezel.

The three new Aquis dive watches with a case diamater of 41.5 mm and the brand’s in-house movement 400 will be available from June 2021

The Oris Caliber 400 is regulated to -3/+5 seconds a day and features non-ferrous alloys, 120-hour (or 5-day) power reserve (via twin barrels), and a 10-year extended warranty and service recommendation. The movement is protected via a sapphire caseback, which assists in providing this diver’s watch with a 300-meter water resistance.

“Oris engineered the Calibre 400 Series using more than 30 non-ferrous and anti-magnetic components, including a silicon escape wheel and a silicon anchor. In testing by the renowned Laboratoire Dubois, Calibre 400 deviated by less than 10 seconds a day after exposure to 2,250 gauss.”

The new Aquis Date Calibre 400 41.5 mm is available from June 2021, with the brand set to retail the model at $3,500 on a steel bracelet, and $3,300 on a rubber strap. Both are equipped with the brand’s own “Quick Strap Change” technology, the folding clasp with side push buttons has an integrated dive extension.
